The Announcement of Technion Guangdong Institute of Technology (TGIT)

On the 29th September, 2013, a new era of research and innovation in science, engineering and life sciences was announced. The joint venture between Israel's prestigious Technion-Israel Institute of Technology-and Shantou University (STU), will see the opening of the Technion Guangdong Institute of Technology (TGIT) in Shantou, Guangdong. Sponsored by the LKSF with a US$130 million grant, the first courses to be taught at the new Institute will encompass the fields of civil and environmental engineering and computer science.

In 1981, Mr Li founded Shantou University (STU), the only privately funded public university in China with a commitment of HK$6 billion (US$776 million) to date.Our commitment to education is long-term.
